1. How do I file a small claims action against someone?

You will need to file small claims paperwork in the County Court. Information on how to file, as well as the paperwork needed, can be found on the Judicial Branch website.

2. Can I get an extension of time to pay my court costs?

Bring a handwritten letter requesting the extension to the County Court Office located at:

Since each situation is different, your request may or may not be granted.

3. Can I pay my traffic ticket/court costs by credit or debit card?

Our office does not accept credit or debit cards at this time. However, traffic tickets may be paid online. Pay Online

4. How do I get a copy of my court file?

Call the Wayne County Court at (402) 375-2260 to let them know which documents you need, and whether or not you need them certified. Some files are on microfilm, so advance notice is appreciated.
